The gene-editing of human embryos is a controversial topic (BBCThe Guardian). In November 2018, Chinese professor He Jiankui announced that genetically modified twins had been born in China (NPR, NY Times). There are reports that his work resulted in another pregnancy that was ongoing as of late January (BBC).
