Thailand's government has promised to hold a general election in 2017, but it remains unclear how the elections will be conducted and how the Pheu Thai Party of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, ousted in a May 2014 coup, will factor into that process (Reuters, Al Jazeera).
