On 8 May 2024, the Georgia Court of Appeals agreed to hear an appeal from Donald Trump and other defendants in the Georgia election interference case on whether Willis should be disqualified from prosecuting the case (NPR, AP, Georgia Court of Appeals). The disposition of any appeal of the ruling from the Georgia Court of Appeals is immaterial. A decision either to disqualify Willis outright or directing the trial court to order Willis disqualified will count. For the purposes of this question, a ruling to dismiss the charges against any or all defendants due to purported impropriety by Willis will count as her being disqualified. The Georgia Court of Appeals remanding the case back to the trial court for proceedings other than the disqualification of Willis or dismissal of charges due to purported impropriety by Willis will not count so long as disqualification or dismissal is not ordered.
