In May 2024, US oil prices were down from 2024 highs reached in April despite continued violence in the Middle East and potential OPEC+ actions (CNBC). The question will be suspended on 29 September 2024 and the outcome determined using the spot price per barrel per the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, expected in October 2024 (FRED). On 9 May 2024, the spot price for WTI was $80.86.
