What will be the value of Drewry’s World Container Index (WCI) on 5 December 2024?

Costs for shipping goods have jumped since Iran-backed Houthi forces began attacking commercial shipping off the coast of Yemen, and shortages of available containers themselves have exacerbated the problem (Transport Topics, CNBC). The question will be suspended on 4 December 2024 and the outcome determined using the WCI index value for 5 December 2024 as reported by Drewry Shipping Consultants Limited (Drewry, Marine Insight). On 6 June 2024, the value of the WCI was $4,716.
