Challenges
General elections are not due again in the UK until 2020, but the recent court ruling requiring parliamentary approval for Brexit has prompted some calls for a snap election (Financial Times, The Telegraph, BBC, The World in 2017), and British law allows for out-of-cycle elections under certain conditions (www.parliament.uk).
