When will Boeing Starliner astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore safely return to Earth?

As of the launch of this question, two US astronauts, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, remain stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) as NASA evaluates various problems with their Boeing Starliner spacecraft (Newsweek, France 24, Space.com). To safely return, the crew must return to Earth alive. If an attempted return to Earth fails for either or both astronauts, the question will close "Not before 27 September 2024" as of the date of the failed attempt.
