Despite ongoing tensions on various fronts in the Middle East, oil prices have remained relatively stable in 2024 (US News & World Report, CNBC, Yahoo [Reuters]). The question will be suspended on 30 December 2024 and the outcome determined using the spot price per barrel per the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, expected in January 2025 (FRED). On 19 August 2024, the spot price for WTI was $75.82.
