Closing Jan 01, 2025 08:01AM UTC
The US inflation rate has continued to fall in the summer of 2024, though it remained higher than the Federal Reserve's target of 2% (CNBC, AP, Investopedia). The question will be suspended on 31 December 2024 and the outcome determined using the 12-month percentage change for December 2024 when first released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for "All items" as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, expected in January 2025 (FRED, click "EDIT GRAPH" and change "Units" to "Percent Change from Year Ago"). As of the launch of this question, the change for December 2023 was 3.32316%.
