What will be Apple's net sales in Greater China in the fourth quarter of 2024 (first quarter of Apple's fiscal year 2025)?
Closing Jan 01, 2025 08:01AM UTC
Apple is facing growing competition from domestic Chinese manufacturers as the American company faces regulatory obstacles in the PRC (CNBC, Yahoo [South China Morning Post], AOL [Business Insider]). The question will be suspended on 31 December 2024 and the outcome determined using "Net sales" for "Greater China" data in its fiscal year 2025 first quarter report, expected in early 2025 (Apple - Investor Relations, see "Financial Data"). Apple's fiscal year ends in late September, so its fiscal year first quarter reports generally cover the fourth calendar quarter of the previous year. In the fourth quarter of 2023 (fiscal year first quarter 2024), Apple reported "Net sales" for "Greater China" of $20,819 million, or $20.819 billion (Apple - FYQ1 2024 Earnings, see page 14).
