Challenges
With Senator JD Vance now the vice president-elect after the 2024 US election, the responsibility to replace Vance falls on the governor of Ohio (CNN, Newsweek, Fox News). The new Senate is scheduled to begin on 3 January 2025, and Vance is expected to be inaugurated as vice president on 20 January 2025 (US Constitution - Amendment XX).
