The Bank of England, the UK's central bank, cut its benchmark Bank Rate by 0.25% for a second time in 2024 at its November monetary policy meeting (Bank of England - Monetary Policy Summary, August 2024, AP). The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets the Bank Rate, which, as of 7 November 2024, was 4.75% (Bank of England - Bank Rate, Bank of England - Monetary Policy Summary, November 2024). As of the launch of this question, the MPC's next monetary policy meeting announcement is scheduled for 19 December 2024 (Bank of England - Monetary Policy Committee Calendar).
