Challenges
Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden continue to impact the use of the Red Sea for global shipping as shortages in shipping containers and qualified personnel put pressure on the industry (CNBC, Bertling, AD Ports Group). The question will be suspended on 11 June 2025 and the outcome determined using the WCI index value for 12 June 2025 as reported by Drewry Shipping Consultants Limited (Drewry, Marine Insight). On 28 November 2024, the value of the WCI was $3,331.
