Chinese stocks gained momentum in the second half of 2024 on hopes of government stimulus for the lagging economy, but the outlook for 2025 remains unclear (Yahoo [Bloomberg], MSN [Wall Street Journal], MarketWatch). The question will be suspended on 25 September 2025 and the outcome determined using data reported in the US (your location in the world may impact how the site dates prices) by Google Finance (Google Finance, set chart to "6M"). On 16 December 2024, the closing value of the Shanghai Composite Index was 3,386.33.
