The US capacity utilization rate is the percentage of productive capacity being used in the economy (Yahoo [Reuters], Investopedia, Federal Reserve - Capacity Utilization Explanatory Notes). The question will be suspended on 31 January 2026 and the outcome determined using data as first reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database, expected in February 2026 (FRED). As of the launch of this question, the capacity utilization rate for September 2024 was 77.4085%.
