Natural gas prices in the US have risen as cold weather has increased demand and producers look forward to higher exports with the regulatory environmental change that has come with the Trump administration (Pipe & Gas Journal, EIA - Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report, MSN [Barchart]). The question will be suspended on 29 June 2025 and the outcome determined using the spot price per million British thermal units (BTUs) per the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as reported by the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database (FRED, EIA - British thermal units). On 28 June 2024, the spot price for natural gas was $2.42.
