In Catholic Charities Bureau, Inc. (CCB) v. Wisconsin Labor & Industry Review Commission (LIRC), will the Supreme Court rule that the LIRC violated the First Amendment's religion clauses by denying CCB an otherwise-available unemployment tax exemption because CCB did not meet the state's criteria for religious behavior?

CCB and four sub-entities under its control sought a determination that they were exempt from contributing to Wisconsin's unemployment insurance system, the denial of which was affirmed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2024 (Catholic Charities Bureau v. State of Wisconsin, AP, Wisconsin Public Radio, WFMJ, Oyez). The Supreme Court is expected to hand down its decision in its 2024 term, but if it does not, the question will close as "No." If the Court decides this case without addressing this question's particular issue of law, the question will close as "No." A finding that LIRC violated the First Amendment's religion clauses with regard to CCB or any of its four sub-entities at issue in this case will count.
